Football is played worldwide
Through passion and practice, it has built a real social network at both local and international levels. Following the example of famous international football competitions, AIAF aims to create a link between various legal cultures, in a spirit of exchange and sharing.
The independence of lawyers and their professional ethics must serve football in its social dimension.
We value law as much as sport and we think that our ethics as independent lawyers can contribute to the development of football all the while enhancing the respect of fundamental rights.
La Cité du Vin
On the banks of the Garonne, this modern building in the shape of a “carafe” is a tribute to local know-how and tradition.
La Cité du Vin hosts several exhibitions, conferences in its auditorium, a panoramic restaurant, afterworks and tastings among many other activities related to the wine and its culture.
Bordeaux
As the AIAF celebrates its 10th edition of the Congress, its signature event, we wished to come back to the place of birth of the association: France.
The Congess will be held in Bordeaux. This port city in southwest France has about 350 UNESCO heritage buildings, most of them dating from the 18th century.
A top location for business and tourism
The city of Bordeaux has an extremely rich landscape and it is an attractive place for tourism. The downtown buildings symbolises the excellence sought by 18th century French architects.
Bordeaux is also a very dynamic city with many companies operating in a wide range of industries.
A crossroads between sea, mountains and countryside
The city would be nothing without its land and its surroundings. Bordeaux stands on the banks of a river, but also in the heart of a rich region known worldwide for its vineyards and its gentle way of life.
The coast is just a few kilometres from the city, and beautiful landscapes are within reach if the curious would like to discover what happens outside the city walls.

The AIAF Congress will take place during the Rugby World Cup in France. Hotels in Bordeaux are likely to be very busy. We therefore advise you to book your hotel room as soon as possible. You will find below a list of hotels we have selected. There will be no ‘main’ hotel, unlike in other years.
