Intended audience: CAS arbitrators, counsel and lawyers who operate in the areas of arbitration and sports law, representatives of associations or federations, in-house counsel to companies in the «sport business» whose contracts or bylaws provide for the resolution of any disputes by arbitration before the CAS.
Organiser: The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the Swiss Bar Association (SAV/FSA).
Purpose of the seminar: The first part of the first day will cover topics of great practical importance, such as the new developments in the fight against doping. During the second part of the first day, the speakers will focus from different perspectives on the question of legislative and judicial power of sports associations and the increasing tendency to test the validity of certain provisions under a competition law or a human rights perspective.
Traditionally, the second day will be dedicated to a review of CAS jurisprudence. In the field of international football, there will not only be a review of the case-law, but there will also be a presentation of the latest developments relating to the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.
Date: Friday, september 27 and Saturday, september 28, 2024
Place: The conference will take place at the Hotel Beau-Rivage Palace, Lausanne.
Language: The lectures will be held in English without simultaneous translation.
